ORDINANCE NO. 970776

Authorizing contracts with Guadalupe Center, Metropolitan Lutheran Ministries, Salvation Army, and United Services Community Action Agency to provide emergency financial assistance to needy Kansas City residents.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of Neighborhood and Community Services Department is hereby authorized to execute contracts with the following agencies in their respective amounts to provide emergency financial assistance to needy Kansas City residents from funds previously appropriated to Account No. 98-100-057-2010-B. The contracts are approved, in substantial form, as that on file with the Director of Neighborhood and Community Services:

Guadalupe Center $ 41,032.00 Metropolitan Lutheran Ministries 9,431.00 Salvation Army, Kansas and Western Missouri Division 41,031.00 United Services Community Action Agency 41,031.00 TOTAL $132,525.00

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
