ORDINANCE NO. 980029

 

Authorizing execution of an Option to Renew a Lease Agreement with K.C. Partners for a term of seven months at a rate of $23,380.00 for 3,722 square feet of office space at 324 East 11th Street, 25th Floor, Kansas City, Missouri.

 

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 951387 passed October 19, 1995, authorized the Director of Water Services to enter into a Lease Agreement for a term of one year with an option to renew for three additional one-year periods for use by the Industrial Waste Control Division; and

 

WHEREAS, Ordinance No. 960814 passed July 11, 1996, authorized an exercise of the First Option to Renew through October 31, 1997; and

 

WHEREAS, the City desires to continue utilizing the described space for an additional seven months for use by the Industrial Waste Control Division of the Water Services Department; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of the Department of Water Services is hereby authorized to exercise and execute the Option to Renew, on behalf of Kansas City, the Lease Agreement executed with K.C. Partners for lease of 3,722 square feet of office space in a building located at 324 East 11th Street, 25th Floor, for a period commencing November 1, 1997 and ending May 31, 1998, at a rate of $10.77 per square foot for a total of $23,380.00 for the entire term. Said rent shall be for office space in accordance with the terms of the Lease Agreement. A copy of said Option to Renew, in substantial form, is attached hereto and is hereby approved.

 

Section 2. That the Director of Water Services is hereby authorized to expend up to the sum of $23,380.00 from fund previously appropriated to Account No. 98-811-080-2225-B to satisfy the cost of this Lease Agreement.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
