RESOLUTION NO. 180996

 

Honoring Randall Edson on his retirement from the City of Kansas City, Missouri after of 37 years and 4 months of dedicated service.

 

WHEREAS, Randall Edson began his career with the Public Works Department in 1981 as an Engineering Aide working on a Survey Crew, and progressed to become a Professional Engineer in 2004; and

 

WHEREAS, Randall Edson has advanced through several increasingly responsible positions including Heavy Construction Inspector, Construction Manager, Design Engineer, Project Manager, Utilities Coordinator and most recently, Manager of the Street & Traffic Permits Section; and

  

WHEREAS, Randall Edson has completed work above and beyond what was expected, including creating the City’s first Internet webpage for digitized Engineering Standards and Specifications as a Member of the Engineering Standards Committee; and

 

WHEREAS, Randall Edson received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering from UMKC and professional licensure during his employment with the City; and

 

WHEREAS, Randall Edson has worked extensively to specify, develop and implement the Public Works Department’s section of the CompassKC online enterprise system to streamline and modernize the Permit Application Process; and

 

WHEREAS, Randall Edson looks forward to spending quality time with his wife, family and friends, traveling, working on home and garden projects, and other rewarding hobbies; and

 

WHEREAS, December 31, 2018 will mark the last day of Randall Edson’s career with the City of Kansas City, Missouri; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby extend to Randall Edson, on the occasion of his retirement from City service, the heartiest best wishes for his future, together with appreciation for his total of 37 years and 4 months of dedicated and devoted service to the citizens of this great City of Kansas City, Missouri; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Randall Edson in token of the Mayor’s and Council’s respect and high regard and their best wishes for the long and happy retirement which he so richly deserves.
