ORDINANCE NO. 031089

 

Authorizing execution of a Lease Agreement with Ivanhoe Neighborhood Council for the rental of City-owned real property located at 3700 Woodland.

 

WHEREAS, the Ivanhoe Neighborhood Council wishes to lease from the City the property located at 3700 Woodland (Premises) for the purpose of establishing a center for neighborhood residents for meetings, activities, and training classes, and office space for Ivanhoe staff, Front Porch Alliance Staff, community police officers, and other non-profit organizations; and

 

WHEREAS, the Lease Agreement shall commence on October 1, 2003, and terminate on September 30, 2004; and

 

WHEREAS, Ivanhoe Neighborhood Council, shall pay to the City $1.00 and other valuable consideration; and

 

WHEREAS, Ivanhoe Neighborhood Council, with the assistance of Christmas in October, and other community partners shall renovate the premises to include roof replacement, office enhancements and furnishings consistent with the use of the premises; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of the Department of City Development is hereby authorized to execute on behalf of the City a Lease Agreement with Ivanhoe Neighborhood Council, for rental of real property located at 3700 Woodland in Kansas City, Missouri, for the purpose of a center for neighborhood residents and office space, for a period of one year beginning October 1, 2003 and ending September 30, 2004, at an annual rent of one dollar and 00/100 ($1.00) and other valuable consideration.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
