RESOLUTION NO. 971165

 

Amending the Shoal Creek Valley Area Plan by amending the Proposed Land Use Map for an approximately 27 acre tract of land generally located at the northwest corner of Missouri Highway 291 and Missouri Highway A changing the land use designation from office uses to retail uses.

 

WHEREAS, on February 18, 1992, City Council by Resolution No. 920048 adopted the Shoal Creek Valley Area Plan being the Plan for development and redevelopment of that area bounded by the corporate limits of Kansas City on the north, Pleasant Valley Road on the south, the corporate limits of Kansas City on the east and N. Woodland Avenue on the west; and

 

WHEREAS, said Plan has been amended by Resolution No. 931107, adopted October 21, 1993; amended by Resolution No. 951256, adopted August 1, 1995; and further amended by Resolution No. 960508, adopted June 22, 1996; and

 

WHEREAS, after further review by the City Development Department, it has been deemed appropriate to amend the Shoal Creek Valley Area Plan as it affects that area of approximately 27 acres generally located at the northwest corner of Missouri Highway 291 and Missouri Highway A in order to modify the Proposed Land Use Plan for such area from office uses to retail uses; and

 

WHEREAS, public notice of a hearing before the City Plan Commission was published on May 19, 1997; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission considered such amendment to the Proposed Land Use Map on June 3, 1997; and

 

WHEREAS, after all interested persons were given an opportunity to present testimony, the City Plan Commission did on June 3, 1997, recommend approval of the proposed amendment to the Shoal Creek Valley Area Plan; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section A. That the Shoal Creek Valley Area Plan is hereby amended by modifying the Proposed Land Use Map for an approximately 27 acre tract of land generally located at the northwest corner of Missouri Highway 291 and Missouri Highway A in order to change the proposed land use designation from office uses to retail uses, as provided on the Proposed Land Use Map, attached hereto and incorporated herein by reference.

 

Section B. That all public notices and hearings required by law have been given and had.
