RESOLUTION NO. 100327

 

Honoring, Felecia Naomi Collins after 26 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Kansas City, Missouri on the occasion of her retirement from the Health Department.

 

WHEREAS, Felecia Naomi Collins will be retiring from the Kansas City, Missouri Health Department as Senior Administrative Assistant on April 30, 2010; and

 

WHEREAS, Felecia, mother of six, was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri school district and is currently pursuing her Associates of Liberal Arts degree from Longview Community College; and

 

WHEREAS, Ms. Collins worked at Municipal Court for 17 years, started as an Information Processor I, advanced to Information Processor III, before she was promoted in 2001 to Parks and Recreation where she worked as a Secretary, and was then promoted in 2004 to the Health Department as an Administrative Assistant where she advanced to a Senior Administrative Assistant; and

 

WHEREAS, during her tenure she received numerous awards and certificates, while serving judicial officials, the community and co-workers; and

 

WHEREAS, her commitment to serving the City of Kansas City, Missouri included working as support staff on numerous committees impacting the effectiveness of community services and additionally undertaking specialized training opportunities for the betterment of her service; and

 

WHEREAS, upon her retirement she is looking forward to managing her own time, vacationing, spending time with her grandchildren, learning new skills and continuing to serve her community through public service work for girls and young women helping to enhance and enrich their lives; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby extend to Felecia Naomi Collins, on the occasion of her retirement from the Health Department, the heartiest best wishes for her future, together with appreciation for her 26 years of dedicated services to the citizens of Kansas City, Missouri; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Felecia Naomi Collins in token of their respect and high regard and their best wishes for the long and happy retirement which she so richly deserves.
