ORDINANCE NO. 140853

 

Authorizing the acceptance of a $50,600.00 grant from and a contract with the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission for the purpose of investigating discrimination complaints in employment.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of the Human Relations Department is hereby authorized to accept a $50,600.00 grant from the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) for the purpose of investigating discrimination complaints in employment.

 

Section 2. That the Director of the Human Resources Department is hereby authorized to execute a $50,600.00 contract with the EEOC to investigate discrimination complaints in employment. A copy of the contract is on file in the office of the Director of the Human Resources Department.

 

Section 3. That the Director of the Human Resources Department can spend up to $50,600.00 from funds previously appropriated to 15-1000-545210-G54EEOC14 for the contract with the U.S. EEOC.

 

Section 4. That the Director of the Human Relations Department is designated as requisitioning authority for Account No. 15-1000-545210.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
