COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR ORDINANCE NO. 071180

 

Considering the Kansas City Register nomination for the property located at 2001 Vine Street, known as the Vine Street Workhouse, as required by Section 2.911-920, Administrative Code of the City of Kansas City. (250-S-114)

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Vine Street Workhouse is hereby designated for inclusion in the Kansas City Register of Historic Places.

 

Section 2. That the location is more specifically described as follows:

 

All that part of the Southeast Quarter of the Northwest Quarter of Section 9, Township 49, Range 33, in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, described as follows: Beginning at the northeast comer of Lot 6, Block 3, "Whitehead Place"; thence northerly along the west line of vacated Highland Avenue, a distance of 285.9 feet, more or less, to its intersection with the south right-of-way line of the Kansas City Terminal Railway; thence westerly along said south right-of-way line, a distance of 279.5 feet, more or less, to the east line of Vine Street, as now established; thence southerly along said east line, a distance of 285.9 feet, more or less, to a point on the north line of Lot 1, Block 3, said "Whitehead Place," a distance of 127.0 feet west of the northeast corner thereof; thence easterly along the north line of said Block 3, a distance of 279.5 feet to the point of beginning.
