RESOLUTION NO. 010153

 

Honoring Ronald Acock on the occasion of his retirement after 26 years of service to the citizens of Kansas City, Missouri.

 

WHEREAS, Ronald Acock began his employment with Kansas City on December 4, 1974, as a Welder in the Parks and Recreation Department; and

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Acock transferred to the Water Services Department in 1979, continuing his service as a Welder; and

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Acock was promoted in 1995 to Maintenance Mechanic in the Water Services Department; and

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Acock served the citizens of Kansas City during his years of service, including the extreme cold during the winter of 1983, when he was thawing pipes throughout the City, even on Christmas morning, and working during the many hardships of the flood of 1993;

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Acock had an instrumental role in the automation of the Water Supply Divisions tool crib; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby extend to Mr. Ronald Acock, on the occasion of his retirement from City service, the heartiest best wishes for his future, together with their most sincere appreciation for his 26 years of dedicated service to the citizens of Kansas City; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof, and that a copy hereof be presented to Mr. Acock in token of their respect and high regard and their best wishes for a long and happy retirement which he so richly deserves.
