RESOLUTION NO. 000375

Directing the City Manager to issue an RFQ to select the consultant to help the City implement a comprehensive competitiveness and efficiency program.

WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City has embarked on a comprehensive competitiveness and efficiency program to ensure that our citizens receive the highest quality services in the most competitive and cost effective manner; and

WHEREAS, the City has hired a consultant, HDR, to assist in developing a strategy and the first steps for implementing that strategy to improve the Citys efficiency and competitiveness, yet such consultant was chosen without having to compete with any other company; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

That the City Manager, prior to any further contractual extensions with its consultant, HDR, issue an RFQ to enable numerous, qualified companies to present their qualifications for implementing a strategy to deliver the highest quality services in the most cost efficient and competitive fashion.
