RESOLUTION NO. 030099
Honoring
28 Water Services Department associates on the occasion of their retirement
after a combined total of 717 years of service to the citizens of Kansas City,
Missouri and the customers of the Water Services Department.
WHEREAS,
the associates employed by the Water Services Department are the heart and soul
of the Department; and
WHEREAS,
while regulatory and customer service demands upon the Water Services
Department have increased during recent years, the associates of the Department
have responded to the challenges with greater levels of productivity; and
WHEREAS,
associates in the Water Services Department have involved themselves in the
long-term improvement and betterment of the Department by fulfilling not only
their individual responsibilities but also participating actively in the
Departments total quality management programs - Associates Creating Excellence
(ACE) and Kansas City Government Optimization (KC-GO); and
WHEREAS,
the following listed associates will retire February 1, 2003 from City
employment: John L. Anderson - 23 years; Robert Gene Barbour - 25 years; Larry
E. Bell - 24 years; Jimmy D. Bray - 24 years; Larry Bronson - 19 years; William
J. Creswell - 27 years; Michael W. Cusick - 23 years; Victor Davis - 31 years;
Allen Demery - 28 years; Roy L. Elmore - 27 years; Marva D. Franks-Thomas - 24
years; Paul D. Haar - 24 years; Gary W. Hampton - 34 years; Henry E. Hardin,
Jr. - 14 years; Alvin James, Jr. - 22 years; Nathaniel Love - 27 years; Jimmie
L. McMinn - 28 years; A. D. Moss, Jr. - 16 years; James L. Nannenmann - 35
years; Dennis A. Nation - 33 years; Carl Poke - 33 years; Karl Oliver Reiley -
24 years; Larry Dean Roberts - 25 years; Curtis Eugene Ross - 30 years; John G.
Schockley - 24 years; Andrew Spearman - 33 years; Wilford E. Steel II - 10
years; and Frank J. Whittemore - 30 years; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE
IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That
the Mayor and Council hereby extend their most sincere appreciation for the
many years of dedicated service, together with their heartiest best wishes for
the future, to each Water Services Department Associate retiring from City
Service; and
BE
IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the
Council in testimony thereof, and in token of their respect and high regard and
their best wishes for long and happy retirements which are so richly deserved,
a copy of hereof be presented to each listed retiree.
