ORDINANCE NO. 970592

 

Amending Chapter 80, Code of Ordinances of the City of Kansas City, Missouri, 1996, commonly known as the Zoning Ordinance, by adding a new section to be known as Section 80-11A0058, rezoning an area generally bounded by Jackson Avenue on the west, Elmwood Avenue on the east, 56th Street on the north and 57th Terrace on the south from District R-2b (Two-Family Dwellings) to District R-1b (One-Family Dwellings).

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section A. That Chapter 80, Code of Ordinances of the City of Kansas City, Missouri, 1996, commonly known as the Zoning Ordinance, is hereby amended by enacting a new section to be known as Section 80-11A0058, rezoning an area generally bounded by Jackson Avenue on the west, Elmwood Avenue on the east, 56th Street on the north and 57th Terrace on the south from District R-2b (Two-Family Dwellings) to District R-1b (One-Family Dwellings), said section to read as follows:

 

Section 80-11A0058. That an area legally described as:

 

All of Lots 1-48, Swope Park Orchard, a subdivision of land lying in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri; all of Lots 1-7, 18-33, Swope Hills, a subdivision of land lying in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri; all of Lots 1-8, Ira Witschner Subdivision, a subdivision of land lying in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, and including a tract of land more particularly described as follows: Beginning at the intersection of the south line of 56th Street and the east line of Jackson Avenue, thence east along said south line of 56th Street to the west line of Kensington Avenue, thence southerly along said west line of Kensington Avenue to the north line of 57th Street, thence westerly along said north line of 57th Street to the southeast corner of Lot 1, Ira Witschner Subdivision, a subdivision of land lying in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, thence northerly along east line of said Lot 1 of said subdivision, along east line of Lots 2-8 to the northeast corner of Lot 8 of said subdivision, thence westerly along the north line of said Lot 8 of said subdivision to the east line of Jackson Avenue, thence northerly along Jackson Avenue to the point of beginning.

 

is hereby rezoned from District R-2b (Two-Family Dwellings) to District R-1b (One-Family Dwellings), all as shown outlined on a map marked Section 80-11A0058, which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, and which is hereby adopted as a part of an amendment to the zoning maps constituting a part of said chapter and as an amendment to Section 80-11 thereof.

 

Section B. That the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed amendment hereinabove, all public notices and hearings required by the Zoning Ordinance have been given and had.
