ORDINANCE NO. 940693, AS FURTHER AMENDED

Reducing appropriation in Account No. 95-100-057-2340-B by $200,000.00; appropriating the sum of $200,000.00 to Account No. 95-100-055-1022-B; reducing appropriation in Account No. 95-263- 057-2340-B by $37,500.00; appropriating the sum of $37,500.00 to Account No. 95-263-055-1022-B; designating requisitioning authority; and authorizing a $237,500.00 contract with the Black Economic Union for the purpose of demolishing dangerous buildings through the employment of underemployed young adults.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the appropriation in the following account is hereby reduced by the following amount:

95-100-057-2340-B Dangerous Building Demolition $200,000.00

Section 2. That the sum of $200,000.00 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the General Fund to the following account in said Fund:

95-100-055-1022-B BEU-DB Demolition-Young Adults $200,000.00

Section 3. That the appropriation in the following account is hereby reduced by the following amount:

95-263-057-2340-B Dangerous Building Demolition $ 37,500.00

Section 4. That the sum of $37,500.00 is hereby appropriated from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the Community Development Fund - Year 20, Fund No. 263, to the following account in said Fund:

95-263-055-1022-B BEU-DB Demolition-Young Adults $ 37,500.00

Section 5. That the Director of the Department of Housing and Community Development is hereby designated as requisitioning authority for Account Nos. 95-100-055-1022-B and 95-263-055-1022-B.

Section 6. That the Director of the Department of Housing and Community Development is hereby authorized to execute a contract with the Black Economic Union, in the amount of $237,500.00, for the purpose of demolishing dangerous buildings through the employment of underemployed young adults from funds herein appropriated to Account Nos. 95-100-055-1022-B, BEU-DB Demolition- Young Adults, and 95-263-055-1022-B, BEU-DB Demolition-Young Adults. A copy of the contract, in substantial form, is attached hereto and is hereby approved.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
