RESOLUTION NO. 940427

Authorizing the Mayor to apply to the Economic Development Administration at the United States Department of Commerce for a Disaster Recovery Grant, and certifying said application.

WHEREAS, the Economic Development Administration of the United States Department of Commerce is authorized to accept applications for Title IX Disaster Recovery Grants under the Disaster Assistance Program; and

WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City, Missouri intends to file an application for said grant for construction of pumping stations at the Westside Wastewater Treatment Plant and Turkey Creek Station with an estimated cost of $2,812,500.00; and

WHEREAS, said application shall be filed pursuant to and in accordance with appropriate administrative rules and regulations for such grants; NOW THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section A. That the Mayor is authorized to submit and sign on behalf of the City of Kansas City, Missouri, the aforesaid application.

Section B. That the Council hereby certifies that said application has been prepared and will be submitted to the Economic Development Administration at the United States Department of Commerce in accordance with and pursuant to the Department's rules and regulations.
