ORDINANCE NO. 071243

Authorizing the Director of Conventions and Entertainment Facilities to execute a five-year agreement with AEG Kansas City Arena, LLC, for the management, booking and operation of the American Royal Center; estimating revenue in the amount of $222,598.00; and appropriating $351,117.00 in the Convention and Tourism Fund.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of the Convention and Entertainment Facilities Department is hereby authorized to enter into and execute a five-year agreement with Anschutz Kansas City, LLC, for the management, booking and operation of the American Royal Center, a copy of which is on file, in substantial form, at the offices of the Convention and Entertainment Facilities Department.

Section 2. That revenue in the following account of the Convention and Tourism Fund is hereby estimated in the following amount:

08-2360-632204-457500 Facility Rental $222,598.00

Section 3. That $351,117.00 is hereby appropriated to the following account of the Convention and Tourism Fund:

08-2360-632204-B American Royal Center Management $351,117.00

Section 4. That the Director of Convention and Entertainment is designated as requisitioning authority for Account No. 08-2360-632204.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
