ORDINANCE NO. 130359

 

 

Accepting and approving a grant to the City in the amount of $225,289.00 from the United States Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program; estimating revenue in the amount of $225,289.00 in the Fire Sales Tax Fund; and recognizing an emergency.

 

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Fire Chief is authorized to accept a grant from the United States Department of Homeland Security Assistance to Firefighters Grant (AFG) program in the amount of $225,289.00 for reimbursement of expenses associated with its Advanced Emergency Medical Technician (AEMT) pilot program.

 

Section. 2. That the revenue in the following account of the Fire Sales Tax Fund is estimated in the following amount:

 

14-2300-230001-478398 USFA AFG Grant $225,289.00

 

Section 3. That this ordinance is recognized as an emergency measure within the provisions of Section 503 of the City Charter in that it appropriates money and shall take effect in accordance with that section.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
