COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR ORDINANCE NO. 951199

 

Accepting corporation warranty deeds from the Monnett Battle of Westport Fund, Inc., a Missouri corporation, and the Association for the Preservation of Civil War Sites, Inc., conveying to Kansas City, certain lands in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, for public use for park purposes and directing the City Clerk to file same.

 

WHEREAS, the Council finds and determines that by Resolution No. 23075 adopted by the Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners on August 8, 1995, certain lands were acquired for public use for park purposes in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, and said Board has now recommended to the Council that the deeds hereinafter described be accepted for such public use; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the following listed deeds, recorded by the Jackson County Recorder of Deeds in Kansas City, Missouri:

be end the same is hereby accepted for park purposes.

 

Section 2. That upon the effective date of this ordinance, the City Clerk is hereby directed to cause said ordinance to be recorded in the office of the Jackson County Director of Records in Kansas City, Missouri, as evidence of the acceptance of said deeds by Kansas City for public use for park purposes and the Council does declare in accordance with the provisions of Resolution No. 23075 adopted August 8, 1995, by the Board of Parks and Recreation Commissioners, that said lands in accordance with Section 58 of Article III of the Charter of Kansas City shall remain as part of the Parks Systems of Kansas City forever.
