RESOLUTION NO. 030124
Honoring Aviation employee
Ed Noyallis on the occasion of his retirement for over 22 years of outstanding
service to Kansas City.
WHEREAS, Ed
Noyallis began his career with the City in October, 1980 serving as the Airport
Manager for the Downtown Airport for the Aviation Department;
WHEREAS, Ed came
to the City following his retirement from the United States Air Force as a
Major with 20 years of service as a B-52 pilot; and
WHEREAS, during
Eds many years of working at the Downtown Airport he has accomplished many
things including, writing and managing Park University Aviation Management
Program, founding Mid-America Youth Aviation Association (MAYAA) and was its
first President; was on the steering committee that founded Missouri State
Aviation Council and was first Chairman; was on the steering committee that
founded the Missouri Airport Managers Association and was one of the first
Presidents, and started the KC Aviation Expo as part of the MAYAA to promote
kids and aviation education; and
WHEREAS, Ed is a
member of the America Association of Airport Executives, Great Lakes Chapter
AAAE, KC Business Aircraft Association, Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association,
University Aviation Association and the International Association of Airshows;
and
WHEREAS, Ed has
received numerous awards and special recognition for his years of service to
the Downtown Airport with a few being, General Aviation Service Industry MVP
Award for promoting general aviation and aviation education, recipient of the
Federal Aviation Administration Central Regions General Aviation Employer of
the Year, received the Presidential Flight Support Commendation for
presidential and VIP visits at the airport, twice received the Frank G. Brewer
Civil Air Patrol Memorial Award for his work with youth and aviation, received
numerous Secret Service Commendations for work with the Secret Service for VIP
visits, received the Urban League of Kansas City Commendation and the White
House Communications Commendation regarding Presidential and VIP visits; NOW,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED BY
THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That the Mayor
and Council hereby express to Ed Noyallis on the occasion of his retirement
from City service, their heartiest best wishes and sincere appreciation for his
22 years of dedicated and outstanding service to the citizens of Kansas City;
and
BE IT FURTHER
RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in
testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to him in token of the
respect and genuine gratitude of the Mayor and Council for his outstanding
service to the City.
