ORDINANCE NO. 120443

Authorizing the Director of Water Services to enter into a contract with Black and Veatch Corporation for professional, specialized or technical services for alternative site evaluations associated with the 87th Street Storage Facilities and Pump Station – Phase 1 Project; and authorizing the Director of Water Services to expend approximately $305,000.00.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of Water Services Department is authorized to execute, on behalf of Kansas City, Contract No. 1060, Project No. 81000639, in the amount of $305,000.00 with Black and Veatch Corporation to provide professional, specialized or technical services for the 87th Street Storage Facilities and Pump Station – Phase 1 project. This contract represents the first of a multi-phase contract intended to cover design and construction phase services. A copy of this contract is on file in the office of the Director of Water Services. 

Section 2. That the Director of Water Services is authorized to expend $305,000.00 from Account No. 13-8110-807769-611040, Water & Sewer CD5, to satisfy the cost of this contract.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
