ORDINANCE NO. 001473

 

Authorizing an $880,000.00 increase in the authorized expenditure on Contract No. 960681 with Radmacher Brothers Excavating Company for street improvements to the Paseo Intersection Complex and Virginia Avenue, Project No. 8018, Council District 5.

 

WHEREAS, by Ordinance No. 970340, passed March 27, 1997, the Council authorized a contract with Radmacher Brothers Excavating Company, in the amount of $11,395,706.15 with an authorized expenditure of $13,219,019.13; and

 

WHEREAS, during the course of the work, the need for additional construction to accommodate the abutting property owners has come to light; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Public Works is hereby authorized to expend the additional sum of $880,000.00 from funds previously appropriated to Account Nos. 01-309-089-6503-T ($350,000.00) and 00-399-089-7775-T ($530,000.00) as and for contingencies on Contract No. 960681, to complete the additional construction approved by Ordinance No. 970340, passed March 27, 1997.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
