RESOLUTION NO. 140566

 

Honoring The Tim Henning Memorial Golf Tournament.

 

WHEREAS, on May 15, 2012, Tim Henning, husband of Denise and father to sons Bryan and Matthew, died unexpectedly of a heart attack; and

 

WHEREAS, there were no Automatic External Defibrillators (AED) on or near the field, which had they been available may have saved Tim’s life or given him a greater chance of survival; and

 

WHEREAS, the Henning family was actively engaged in their community and family and Denise remains so after Tim’s death; and

 

WHEREAS, Denise’s law firm, The Henning Law Firm, exhibits their commitment to community by supporting and volunteering for approximately twenty-five organizations that represent responsibility to both employees and community, and.

 

WHEREAS, Denise’s’ commitment to community and family motivated her to begin the Tim Henning Memorial Golf Tournament in 2013; and

 

WHEREAS, the goal of the tournament is to raise money in Tim’s memory to provide and monitor 100 AEDs throughout their 8-year life span; and

 

WHEREAS, as a result of the 213 event, seventy-five AEDs were placed throughout the area; and

 

WHEREAS, the 2014 event, held on May 9, raised $140,000.00 that will assist in future placement and monitoring of AEDs; and

 

WHEREAS, this extraordinary effort bestows a significant benefit and gift on the citizens of this entire community; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby recognize the Henning family for their tremendous loss and congratulate and encourage their efforts that will both honor Tim and contribute resources in his memory that will potentially save the lives of others; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Denise, Bryan and Matthew Henning with the recognition of their efforts and commitment to these efforts.
