ORDINANCE NO. 120363
Authorizing the City Manager to execute
a Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Kansas City, Missouri, and
Platte County, Missouri, for the planning, development, and management of Platte
Purchase Park and Tiffany Hills Park; and approving the Memorandum of
Understanding in substantial form.
WHEREAS, Platte County
owns approximately 80 acres of property designated as parkland and Kansas City
owns approximately 60 acres of property designated as parkland and currently
referred to as “Platte Purchase Park”, located at the northwest corner of N.W.
100th Street and Platte Purchase Drive, Platte County; and
City owns approximately 71.9 acres of property designated as parkland and
currently referred to as at “Tiffany Hills Park” located at N. Congress Avenue
and Tiffany Springs Road; and
County and Kansas City, through the implementation of their respective master
plans, consider it important for the two parks master planned to be sustainably
developed, maintained, operated and open to the public for recreational

maximize resources to provide sustainable park and recreation opportunities and
to execute a Memorandum of Understanding that memorializes each parties’
intent, subject to identification of funding; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT ORDAINED
BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:
That, on behalf of Kansas City, the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter
into and execute a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding by and between the
City of Kansas City, Missouri, and Platte County, Missouri for the planning,
development, and management of Platte Purchase Park and Tiffany Hills Park.
Section 2. That
the Memorandum of Understanding is approved in a form substantially similar to
that on file with the Parks and Recreation Department.
