RESOLUTION NO. 140696

 

Recognizing Steven Christner of City Planning and Development, Tiffany Drummer of Neighborhood and Community Services, Patricia Harris of Finance, Keith Hemphill of General Services, Laura Kresl of Health, Christopher Merchant of General Services, and Terrence Williams of Health on the completion of KU Public Management Center’s Emerging Leaders Academy (ELA), sponsored by the City of Kansas City Human Resources Department.

 

WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City, in support of its policy of excellence in public service is committed to encouraging all its employees to seek ongoing education and professional development opportunities; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of Kansas City is privileged to honor Steven Christner, Tiffany Drummer, Patricia Harris, Keith Hemphill, Laura Kresl, Christopher Merchant, and Terrence Williams on their successful completion of KU Public Management Center’s Emerging Leaders Academy, a 70-hour training program designed to develop the necessary leadership skills; and

WHEREAS, the Emerging Leaders Academy expanded the scope of their understanding of elements crucial to efficacious careers in public service and equipped them to be successful in taking on new responsibilities;  and

WHEREAS, the Emerging Leaders Academy has prepared them to handle tomorrow’s challenges with a stronger comprehension of the public sector and a better grasp on how they can positively influence organizational change in the City of Kansas City and the betterment of our constituents; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council do hereby congratulate Steven Christner, Tiffany Drummer, Patricia Harris, Keith Hemphill, Laura Kresl, Christopher Merchant, and Terrence Williams for their commitment to gaining new skills and seeking a greater understanding of the scope of public service, in order to better serve the citizens of Kansas City, Missouri; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof, and that a copy hereof be presented to Steven Christner, Tiffany Drummer, Patricia Harris, Keith Hemphill, Laura Kresl, Christopher Merchant and Terrance Williams in recognition of their efforts by the Mayor and Council.
