RESOLUTION NO. 031264

 

Welcoming Bloodstone to Kansas City, Missouri.

 

WHEREAS, the Gem Cultural and Educational Center presents Kansas Citys original Rhythm and Blues group, Bloodstone in a special CD release concert on Saturday, November 15, 2003 at the Gem Theater; and

 

WHEREAS, Bloostone is best known for their Grammy award-winning single Natural High and has recorded their new CD in Kansas City as a welcome home present to their many Kansas City supporters; and

 

WHEREAS, Bloodstone was originally known as the Sinceres and got their start while attending Central High School; and

 

WHEREAS, for the past 30 years, Bloodstone has kept the rhythm and blues tradition alive and have played shows throughout the country and the world, including Carnegie Hall and the Apollo Theatre; and

 

WHEREAS, the Bloodstone singers are Harry Williams, Charles Love, Charles McCormick and Donald Brown who are all natives of Kansas City, Missouri; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby welcome Bloodstone to Kansas City, Missouri; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Bloodstone with the appreciation of the Mayor, Council and citizens of Kansas City for the many years of music and entertainment they have provided this community and across the country.
