ORDINANCE NO. 030181

Rescinding the award of a health insurance contract to Humana, Inc.; awarding a contract for health insurance to Coventry Health Care and authorizing the Director of Human Resources to renew the contract with Coventry Health Care for certain City retirees for the period of May 1, 2003 through April 30, 2004.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the City Council hereby rescinds its award of a health insurance contract to Humana, Inc.

Section 2. That the City Council hereby awards a contract for health insurance benefits to Coventry Health Care for City retirees age 65 and older for the period of May 1, 2003 through April 30, 2004, and the Director of Human Resources is hereby authorized to renew this contract, contingent upon an annual appropriation of funds.
