RESOLUTION NO. 010206

 

In memory of Richard Charles Robinson, Sr. who passed away January 27, 2001.

 

WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council are saddened by the death on January 27, 2001, of Richard Charles Robinson, Sr.; and

 

WHEREAS, Richard Robinson was born on July 18, 1936, in Beland, Oklahoma; and

 

WHEREAS, in 1953, R.C. joined the United States Air Force where he served as a flight traffic specialist; and

 

WHEREAS, R.C. attended Moler Barber College in 1958 and then opened a storefront shop on 31st and Prospect; and

 

WHEREAS, in 1973, R.C. purchased the Ivy Barbershop at 44th and Prospect; and

 

WHEREAS, R.C. served as secretary treasurer to the Missouri State Barber Board and was an avid golfer, lover of jazz and friend to all; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby express their profound sorrow on the death of Richard C. Robinson, Sr.; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to his family in token of the genuine esteem and respect in which Richard C. Robinson, Sr. was held, and in token of the deep and sincere sympathy hereby extended to the bereaved family.
