RESOLUTION NO. 940562

Authorizing Gurnie C. Gunter, Director of Water and Pollution Control Department, to act as the City's designated representative for participation by the Water and Pollution Control Department in the Federal and State Pollution Abatement Construction Grant Program and the State Revolving Fund Loan Program in accordance with federal and state guidelines.

WHEREAS, the Pollution Control Department is currently participating in the Federal and State Pollution Abatement Construction Grant Program for the construction of pollution abatement projects in accordance with federal and state guidelines; and

WHEREAS, the Pollution Control Department is also currently participating in the State Revolving Fund Loan Program for construction of the Main Street Sewer Rehabilitation; and

WHEREAS, state and federal requirements for both programs require that a representative be authorized by the City Council to administer the program, including acceptance of grant increases and grant reimbursements; and

WHEREAS, effective April 1, 1994, Mr. Gunter was appointed Director of the Water and Pollution Control Department; NOW, THEREFORE,

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

That Gurnie C. Gunter, Director of Water and Pollution Control Department be and he is hereby authorized to accept the terms and conditions of the Federal and State Pollution Abatement Construction Grant Program and of the State Revolving Fund Loan Program and to officially execute on behalf of the City the necessary documentation to administer these programs. _______________________________________________________
