ORDINANCE NO. 030561

 

Authorizing a Joint Funding Agreement for Water Resources Investigations between Kansas City and the United States Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey, for Year 6 of a study on the effects of combined sewer overflows on the quality of water at Brush Creek and Blue River; and authorizing expenditure of budgeted funds in the amount of $225,000.00.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section 1. That the Director of Water Services is hereby authorized to execute, on behalf of Kansas City, a $225,000.00 Joint Funding Agreement with the United States Department of the Interior, U.S. Geological Survey, for Year 6 of a study on the effects of combined sewer overflows on the quality of water at Brush Creek and Blue River. A copy of the agreement is on file in the office of the Director of Water Services.

 

Section 2. That the Director of Water Services is hereby authorized to expend the sum of $225,000.00 from funds previously appropriated to Account No. 04-811-080-7726-T Sewer Construction representing Kansas Citys share of the cost of the agreement.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
