Amending Chapter 2 of the Code of
Ordinances of the Kansas City, Missouri, Classification and Compensation Plan,
by repealing Sections 2-1082 and 2-1083 to increase the salary for the Elective
Council Member and Mayor, and establishing an effective date.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF
KANSAS CITY:
Section 1. That
Chapter 2, Code of Ordinances of the City of Kansas City, Missouri, is hereby
amended by repealing Sections 2-1082 and 2-1083 and enacting in lieu thereof new
sections of like numbers, to read as follows.
Sec. 2-1082. - Salary schedule for Council members.
(a) The following
schedule for council members in the city service is hereby adopted as the
standard annual salary schedule for the following positions in the city service
as set out herein below:

(b) This annual
salary will remain the same and will not be increased at the beginning of each
new fiscal year.
(c) The council
members may also receive a monthly automobile allowance which will be adjusted
at the beginning of each fiscal year according to the prior year's Kansas City
Consumer Price Index.
Sec. 2-1083. Salary schedule
for Mayor.
(a) The following
schedule for mayor in the city service is hereby adopted as the standard annual
salary schedule for the following positions in the city service as set out
herein below:

(b) This annual salary will remain
the same and will not be increased at the beginning of each new fiscal year.
(c) The Mayor

Section 2. This ordinance shall have
an effective date of August 1, 2019.
