RESOLUTION NO. 160377

 

Approving an amendment to the Greater Downtown Area Plan for an area of 0.4 acres generally located at 1724 Madison Avenue by changing the recommended land use designation from residential low (urban) to residential high. (675-S-7)

 

WHEREAS, the Greater Downtown Area Plan was approved as a guide for the development and redevelopment of that area generally bounded by the city limits of North Kansas City on the north, the state line on the west, 31st Street on the south and Woodland Avenue on the east, by Committee Substitute for Resolution No. 100049, adopted March 11, 2010; and

 

WHEREAS, it has been determined that it is appropriate to provide for an amendment of said Greater Downtown Area Plan; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Planning and Development Department has recommended that the recommended land use designation of the subject property be amended from residential low (urban) to residential high; and

 

WHEREAS, on May 3, 2016, the City Plan Commission recommended approval of such amendment to the Greater Downtown Area Plan; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section A. That the Greater Downtown Area Plan is hereby amended to change the recommended land use designation on about 0.4 acres at 1724 Madison from residential low (urban) to residential high.

 

Section B. That in all other respects the Greater Downtown Area Plan, as amended, remains in full force and effect.

 

Section C. That this amendment is consistent and complies with the FOCUS Kansas City Plan, adopted on October 30, 1997, by Committee Substitute for Resolution No. 971268, and is adopted as a supplement to the FOCUS Kansas City Plan.

 

Section D. That the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed plan, that all public notices and hearings required by law have been given and had.
