RESOLUTION NO. 170707

 

Honoring Mr. Charles “Alan” Bogart on his retirement after more than 22 years of dedicated service to the City of Kansas City, Missouri.

WHEREAS, Mr. Bogart began working for the City in the Purchasing Department in 1995 as a Buyer I and was promoted to a Buyer II in 1996; and

 

WHEREAS, in 2001, Mr. Bogart transferred to Regulated Industries Division in the Neighborhoods and Community Services Department as an Administrative Assistant II; and

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Bogart moved into a Legal Investigator position in 2004 and served in this position for the remainder of his time with the City. Some of his professional accomplishments over the last decade include issuing liquor licenses and permits, managing the vehicle for hire program, among the first group of legal investigators to begin permitting and regulating transportation network companies and transportation network company drivers, tire dealers and waste tire haulers, secondary metal recyclers and regularly meeting with those business owners to discuss strategies to prevent metal theft in the City and conducting inspections of all of these businesses to ensure compliance with the Code of Ordinances of the City; and

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Bogart has left a lasting impression on all of his fellow coworkers and everybody he worked with within the industries and neighborhoods as he is known to be a helpful and friendly man who freely gives of himself to assist those around him while never expecting anything in return; and

 

WHEREAS, Mr. Bogart is looking forward to his retirement to spend as much time as possible with his wife of 43 years and his children and grandchildren; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

That the Mayor and Council hereby extend to Mr. Charles Alan Bogart, on the occasion of his retirement from City service, the heartiest best wishes for his future, together with the appreciation for his more than 22 years of dedicated service to the City of Kansas City; and

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be spread upon the Minutes of the Council in testimony thereof and that a copy hereof be presented to Mr. Charles Alan Bogart in token of the Mayor and Council’s respect and high regard and their best wishes for the long and happy retirement which he so richly deserves.
