ORDINANCE NO. 021428

Authorizing the Directors of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department and the Fire Department to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with Jackson County, Missouri, to participate in the County's Drug Abatement Response Team Program; and authorizing the Director of the Finance Department to accept funds in the amount of $41,000.00 from the Interdisciplinary Task Force Grant for this purpose.

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department, on behalf of Kansas City, is hereby authorized to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with Jackson County, Missouri to provide a housing inspector from funds previously appropriated to Account No. 03-234-057-2315-B to participate in the DART Program as specified in the Memorandum of Understanding which shall be in substantial form as Exhibit 1, attached to this ordinance.

Section 2. That the Director of the Fire Department, on behalf of Kansas City, is hereby authorized to execute a Memorandum of Understanding with Jackson County, Missouri to provide a fire inspector from funds previously appropriated to Account No. 03-234-023-2314-B to participate in the DART Program as specified in the Memorandum of Understanding which shall be in substantial form as Exhibit 1, attached to this ordinance.

Section 3. That the Director of the Finance Department, on behalf of Kansas City, is hereby authorized to accept payment in the amount of $41,000.00 from the Interdisciplinary Task Force Grant from Jackson County, Missouri, for the services the City provides to the DART Program as set forth in the Memorandum of Understanding which shall be in substantial form as Exhibit 1, attached to this ordinance.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
