RESOLUTION NO. 000331

 

Approving an amendment to the Longview Area Plan, being that part of Kansas City bounded by 87th Street on the north, the corporate limits of Kansas City on the south and east and Blue Ridge Boulevard on the west, by modifying the Land Use Plan and Map for an area of approximately 38.75 acres generally located on the west side of the 9200 block of Noland Road, approximately 2000 feet north of Bannister Road, to recommend low density residential uses instead of agricultural uses.

 

WHEREAS, on February 15, 1980, the City Council by Resolution No. 51222 adopted the Longview Area Plan as a guide for development and redevelopment of that area generally bounded by 87th Street on the north, the corporate limits of Kansas City on the south and east and Blue Ridge Boulevard on the west; and

 

WHEREAS, an application was submitted by Ernest Wassman to amend the Longview Area Plan as it affects that 38.75 acre area generally located on the west side of the 9200 block of Noland Road, approximately 2000 feet north of Bannister Road by modifying the Proposed Land Use Plan and Map for such area from agricultural uses to low density residential uses; and

 

WHEREAS, public notice of a hearing before the City Plan Commission was published on January 31, 2000; and

 

WHEREAS, the City Plan Commission considered such amendment to the Proposed Land Use Plan and Map on February 15, 2000; and

 

WHEREAS, after all interested persons were given an opportunity to present testimony, the City Plan Commission did on February 15, 2000, recommend approval of the proposed amendment to the Longview Area Plan; NOW, THEREFORE,

 

BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

 

Section A. That the Longview Area Plan, as approved by Resolution No. 51222, adopted February 15, 1980, is hereby amended as to the Proposed Land Use Plan and Map for that area of approximately 38.75 acres generally located on the west side of the 9200 block of Noland Road, approximately 2000 feet north of Bannister Road, by modifying the recommended land uses for the area from agricultural uses to low density residential uses. A copy of the amendment to the Land Use Plan and Map of the Longview Area Plan is attached hereto as Exhibit A and incorporated herein by reference.

 

Section B. That the amendment to the Longview Area Plan is consistent and complies with the FOCUS Kansas City Plan, adopted on October 30, 1997, by Committee Substitute for Resolution No. 971268, and is adopted as a supplement to the FOCUS Kansas City Plan.

 

Section C. That the Council finds and declares that before taking any action on the proposed amendment hereinabove, all public notices and hearings required by law have been given and had.
