ORDINANCE NO. 090109

 

Authorizing the Director of Neighborhoods and Community Services to execute a $101,333.00 contract through April 30, 2009 with five one year renewal options with Veterinary Management Corporation to manage and operate the Citys Animal Shelter at 4400 Raytown Road, Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, 64129; authorizing the Director of General Services to execute the initial lease with five one year renewal options for use of the Citys Animal Shelter; authorizing the Directors of Neighborhoods and Community Services and General Services to exercise and execute the Citys renewal options for the contract and lease without City Council approval with such funds as appropriated in the Citys annual budget for the contract; authorizing the Director of Neighborhoods and Community Services to expend funds previously appropriated for the contract.

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF KANSAS CITY:

Section 1. That the Director of Neighborhoods and Community Services is hereby authorized to execute a contract in the amount of $101,333.00 with Veterinary Management Corporation to manage and operate the Citys Animal Shelter at 4400 Raytown Rd, Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, 64129 through April 30, 2009. A copy of the contract in substantial form is on file in the office of the Director of Neighborhoods and Community Services.

Section 2. That the Director of Neighborhoods and Community Services is hereby authorized to expend up to $101,333.00 from funds previously appropriated to the Animal Control Kennel Fund, Account No. 1000-572620-B, for services to be performed under the contract.

Section 3. That the Director of Neighborhoods and Community Services is hereby authorized to exercise and execute five one year options to renew the Contract without City Council approval with such funds as appropriated by the Council in the Citys annual budget.

Section 4. That the Director of General Services is hereby authorized to execute a lease through April 30, 2009 with Veterinary Management Corporation at 4400 Raytown Road, Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, 64129.

Section 5. That the Director of General Services is hereby authorized to exercise and execute the Citys five one year options to renew the lease without City Council approval.

I hereby certify that there is a balance, otherwise unencumbered, to the credit of the appropriation to which the foregoing expenditure is to be charged, and a cash balance, otherwise unencumbered, in the treasury, to the credit of the fund from which payment is to be made, each sufficient to meet the obligation hereby incurred.
