City staff and other entities will present potential proposals for Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) grants through the U.S. Department of Transportation.
Councilman Russ Johnson stated the stipulations of the Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery Grant. Cathy Hilderbrand, Public Works, explained part of the process and answered questions from the committee. Vincent Gotia, Port Authority, gave a PowerPoint presentation showing the proposed Front Street Extension and answered questions from the committee. Mark Hoffer, Kansas City Area Transit Authority, gave a PowerPoint presentation on a proposed Downtown Street Rail Alignment and answered questions from the committee. Mell Henderson and Tom Gerend, Mid-America Regional Council, distributed a report on the proposed Smart Moves Regional Transit and answered questions from the committee. (A copy of the report and the printed PowerPoint presentations are on file in the City Clerk's Office.)
