NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING COMMITTEE recommends "ADVANCE AND DO PASS"
Les Washington, Director of Neighborhood and Community Services, stated that the contract was the result of trying to determine what changes, if any, need to be done to the judicial system as it pertains to the City of Kansas City, Mo. At the conclusion of the study, the results and recommendations would be presented to the committee. Traci McClendon, Budget Office, stated that the contract would be the final step in the process to begin the study. She highlighted the various proposed accomplishments and dates of completion for the committee. All work on the study should be completed by December 21, 2004. Councilman Jim Glover asked if the study was aimed at the Municipal Correction Institute instead of the judicial system? Mr. Washington replied that all areas of the judicial system were being evaluated, not just the correctional institute. Funding for the study would be from the KCGO account of the General Fund.
