Accepting and approving a one-year grant award in the amount of $4,323,381.00 from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, to provide funding for Ryan White Part A and Minority AIDS Initiative services; and increasing revenue in the amount of $648,946.49.


NEIGHBORHOODS & HEALTHY COMMUNITIES COMMITTEE recommends "ADVANCE AND DO PASS, DEBATE"
Robert Griffin, testified that the ordinance before the committee approves a Ryan White Grant an increase from previous years. A handout is on file in the City Clerk's Office. He said that the contract would be carried out by several health care providers that include Good Samaritian, TMC, KU and others.

Enacting Section 48-47 to regulate unauthorized signs in the right of way or on public property.


NEIGHBORHOODS & HEALTHY COMMUNITIES COMMITTEE recommends "DO PASS AS A COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE"
David Park, Neighborhood and Community Services, and Maggie Maron, Law Department, both explained that the code change would strengthen and clarify the rules related to signs in the right of way. The specific changes in the code would allow the judge leway in penalties. Councilman Taylor said that the object is not so much to punish but to have a cleaner City.
