 Amending Chapter 2, Code of Ordinances, by enacting a new section to be known as Section 2-53, Limitation on contributions for Mayor and Council elections.


FINANCE AND AUDIT COMMITTEE recommends "HOLD ON AGENDA (9/6/2006)"
This item was held for one week. Dorothy Campbell , Law Department, was present to testify regarding the election contribution issues. There was much discussion regarding the issues of the amount of contributions that would be allowed, the timeframe that contributions can be excepted and the matter of cash and annomious contributions. Also Councilman Fairfield suggested that there should be language in the ordinance that specifies contribution received dates i.e. is a contribution received per the post mark, check date or deposit date. The committee suggested that there be a second substitute to include all the new language and that the item be held for one week.
 
 The Finance and Audit Committee may hold closed Sessions pursuant to the Sections RSMO 610.021 (1), (2), and (3) respectively to discuss legal, real estate or personnel matters. The following items were discussed in closed session 060918 and 060940. Monthly Financial Report (Budgetary Basis) for the period ended June 30, 2006. Gary Morris was present to give the monthly report. (handout on file in the City Clerk's Office) His overview indicated that revenue is slightly down and expenditures are up.
