Authorizing Amendment No. 4 to a design professional services agreement with McClure Engineering Company, for $117,500.00 in the Kenneth Road Bridge Project, for a total contract amount of $818,275.00.

David Miller, Public Works Department, testified that this ordinance authorizes a design professional services agreement with McClure Engineering Company for the Kenneth Road Bridge Replacement project. The improvements will be pedestrian friendly and the existing bridge stone substructure will be disassembled, repaired and stored for future use. Road & bridge alignments and designs were adjusted to reduce construction cost and long-term maintenance costs while increasing resiliency and for construction support during construction to answer review shop drawings, RFIs, change order and any claims during construction.The new bridge is anticipated to have a 70 year useful life. Funding is provided by in-district PIAC funds, GO Bond, Federal BRO fund, Loch Lloyd and Overland Park.

Sherri McIntyre, Director of Public Works, testified that the passage of this ordinance will authorize and extension beyond the original contract expiration to transition garage operations of the Kansas City Power & Light District Garages to KC Live LLC in accordance with the 4th Amendment. The City and KC Live LLC., has advised the City that it will contract with Towne Park for the management of the garages after the transition. This amendment contributes to sustainability by providing continued parking for patrons utilizing the garages on a daily basis. RESOLUTION - Adopting a goal of eliminating traffic deaths and serious injuries by 2030 and endorsing Vision Zero as a comprehensive and holistic approach to achieving this goal; directing the City Manager to convene a Vision Zero Task Force by August 1, 2020; directing the City Manager to work with the Vision Zero Task Force to create a Vision Zero Action Plan; and directing the City Manager to submit the Vision Zero Action Plan to Council by December 1, 2020.

 1. Staff will give an update on the KCI Terminal Improvement Project.
 
 Terry Cassidy, Paslay Management Group and Daniel Moylan, Edgemoor, gave an update of the construction project at KCI Terminal. The new single terminal consists of a two story head house for major functions like check in and baggage claim with two gate concourses connected by a two level connector with baggage handling functions at the ground level. In addition to the new terminal curbs for drop off and pick up, the project includes a new parking garage with spaces for commercial vehicles, buses, shuttles etc. Surface parking in the center of the airport will be re-planned. Project forecast for the next 30 days: Terminal Mass excavation and removal of existing utilities, auger cast piling, elevated roadway, underground utilities and phase 3 and 4 eastern flow roadway. Further updates included are Women in construction, M/WBE partnerships and Workforce participation. An electronic copy of this presentation can be obtained from the City Clerk's Office.

 The City Clerk`s Office now has equipment for the hearing impaired for use with every meeting. To check out the equipment please see the secretary for each committee. Be prepared to leave your Driver`s License or State issued Identification Card with the secretary and she will give you the equipment. Upon returning the equipment your license will be returned.
