Ian Readhead, Aviation gave a brief testimony that this ordinance is for the professional service agreement with Electronic Data Incorporated for the new MCI terminal.

Authorizing a $2,539,090.70 contract with Superior Bowen Asphalt Co., LLC, to Rehabilitate Economy Lots A & C at KCI Airport; authorizing a maximum expenditure of $2,793,000.70; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.


TRANSPORTATION & INFRASTRUCTURE COMMITTEE recommends "ADVANCE AND DO PASS, DEBATE"
Jade Liska, Aviation gave a brief testimony that this ordinance is for parking lots that need to be maintained to extend the life of the pavements. This project includes: 2,000 LF of curb and gutter, 2" cold milling, asphalt overlay, concrete sidewalk removal and replacement, along with signage and pavement markings. Jade Liska, Aviation gave a brief testimony that the primary roadways at KCI Airport need to be maintained to extend the life of the pavements. Authorizing condemnation and taking of private property interests for public use for the construction, location and maintenance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd. and Independence Blvd. Intersection “the Paseo Gateway Intersection” project, Project No. 70142204, in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri; providing for the payment of just compensation therefore; authorizing continued negotiations and purchase by the Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation; authorizing the filing of the petition for condemnation by the City Attorney on behalf of the City; and directing the City Clerk to record this ordinance in the office of the Recorder of Deeds for Jackson County, Missouri.

Chad Thompson and James Wong, Public Works testified that this ordinance will authorize interest fees for private properties to be condemned for public use as street right of way and temporary construction easements required for the construction and maintenance of the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd and Independence Blvd Intersection, The Paseo Gateway Intersection.

Amending Ordinance Nos. 190252, 190253, 190254, and 190255 which authorized contracts for the 2019-2020 Overlay Program by extending the effective date of said Ordinances to June 20, 2019; directing the City Manager to develop a comprehensive 5-year plan to address the maintenance of the roads of Kansas City, Missouri and present the plan to the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee; and recognizing an accelerated effective date.

Authorizing two amendments for a facility repair and maintenance contract for a total of $397,921.00 with Flynn Midwest, LP, for Renewal No. 2 for roof replacements, repairs and masonry repairs project at various Water Services Department buildings; and recognizing this ordinance as having an accelerated effective date.
