Reappropriating $400,113.95 in the Fire Sales Tax Fund; reappropriating $300,992.17 in the Public Safety Sales Tax Fund to continue facility improvement projects; and delegating requisitioning authority.


PUBLIC SAFETY AND NEIGHBORHOODS COMMITTEE recommends "ADVANCE AND DO PASS, DEBATE"
Eric Bosc, Finance Department, explained that the ordinance uses roll over funds to improve several area metro patrol facilities.

RESOLUTION - Expressing the Council’s intent to participate in First Lady Michelle Obama’s Let’s Move initiative and directing the Mayor and City Manager to take steps to establish the City of Kansas City Missouri as a Let’s Move City.


PUBLIC SAFETY AND NEIGHBORHOODS COMMITTEE recommends "IMMEDIATE ADOPTION"
Mayor Funkhouser, testified regarding the "Let's Move" started by First Lady Michelle Obama to help combat childhood obesity. The Mayor stated that it is his desire to have Kansas City be one of the model cities for this campaign. He added that Kansas City has a high rate of obesity in youth and the City as a whole could benefit from the program. He said that it would be a good companion to other programs all ready going on in the City.

 Consideration of items on the Semi-Annual Docket. There will be a South Patrol C Star Presentation from KCPD. Cheif Ritter, Cheif Robin Johnson, Offier Owen, Officer Hudson, Officer Chandlier and Officer Patterson were all present to testified. They commented on manpower shortage and how the various divisions within the Kansas City Police Department are dealing with it. They also discussed the increase and decrease in certain types of crimes throughout the city. There may be general discussion(s) on current Public Safety and Neighborhoods Committee issues. Pursuant to the following subsections of Section 610.021 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri, there may be a closed session to discuss: (1) legal matters, litigation, or privileged communications with attorneys, pursuant to subsection 1; (2) real estate, pursuant to subsection 2; (3) personnel, pursuant to subsection 3 and 13; (4) sealed bids or proposals, pursuant to subsection 12; and/or (5) negotiations with employee groups, pursuant to subsection 9.
 
 There was consideration of the Semi-Annnual docket and all items were released. Cheif Ritter, Cheif Patterson, Sgt. Hudson,Owens and Chandler were all present to testify regarding the CStar report. A hand-out is on file in the City Clerk's Office.
