Hal Brent testified in support of the rezoning. RESOLUTION - Approving and endorsing Grand Boulevard Lofts Limited Partnership (“Applicant”) in its application to the Missouri Department of Economic Development Brownfields Redevelopment Program, as authorized by, and in accordance with, Chapter 447, Section 447.700, subsection (1) of the Revised Statutes of Missouri, for state remediation tax credits.

Andrew Bracker, City Planning and Development, explained the application for Brownfields funds. Councilman Ed Ford informed the committee on the background of the development plan. Allison Bergman, Lathrop and Gage Law Firm, represented the applicant and testified regarding the tax abatement agreement and answered questions from the committee. Ryan Suttan, representing Sherman Associates, testified in support of the resolution and ordinance. Chris Sally, consultant for the Kansas City School District, testified in support of the resolution and ordinance. RESOLUTION - Approving the preparation and submission of an application to the United States Environmental Protection Agency in accordance with the Comprehensive Environmental Response and Liability Act of 1980, as amended, for a Brownfields Assessment Coalition Grant in the amount of $1,000,000.00 for the assessment of hazardous waste and petroleum brownfield properties, and approving the City entering into a coalition with Jackson County, Missouri and the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority of Kansas City, Missouri to submit the Brownfields Assessment Coalition Grant.
