Vacating the north/south and east/west alleys on the block bounded by W. 10th to the north, W. 11th to the south, Central to the west and Wyandotte to the east; retaining a utility easement; and directing the City Clerk to record certain documents. (1654-V).


PLANNING, ZONING & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE recommends "ADVANCE AND DO PASS, DEBATE"
Ashley Winchell, City Planning and Development, gave the staff report on the Ordinance. The vacation will fully close off the existing alley and will not affect traffic circulation or access availability to citizens within the block or Kansas City as a whole. The applicant has obtained consent of all abutting property owners and received comments from all affected utilities. KCPL, AT&T, Time Warner and KCMO Water Services all have existing facilities within the right-of-way, The utility companies would be satisfied with the vacation subject to the retention of an easement and protection of existing facilities.

 2. There may be discussion of Council Priorities relating to economic development.

Pursuant to the following subsections of Section 610.021 of the Revised Statutes of Missouri, there may be a closed session to discuss: (1) legal matters, litigation, or privileged communications with attorneys, pursuant to subsection 1; (2) real estate, pursuant to subsection 2; (3) personnel, pursuant to subsection 3 and 13; and/or (4) sealed bids or proposals, pursuant to subsection 12
 
 The City Clerk`s Office now has equipment for the hearing impaired for use with every meeting. To check out the equipment please see the secretary for each committee. Be prepared to leave your Driver`s License or State issued Identification Card with the secretary and she will give you the equipment. Upon returning the equipment your license will be returned.
