Amending Ordinance No. 120202 by repealing Section 1 and enacting in its place a new Section 1, increasing the taxes levied for the general fund, health fund, and museum fund.

Tammy Queen, City Treasurer, testified before the committee on this ordinance. The ordinance is the annual assessment valuation submitted to the State of Missouri based on information received from the various county assessors. The information allows the City to calculate how much of a tax increase can be levied on real property within the city limits. (A handout of the information presented to the committee is on file in the Office of the City Clerk.)

Calling for submission to the voters of Kansas City, at an election to be held on November 6, 2012, a question amending the Charter of Kansas City to require that each person circulating an initiative, referendum or recall petition be a current resident of Kansas City, Missouri; directing the City Clerk to notify the responsible election authorities of the election on or after August 24, 2012, but not later than August 28, 2012; and recognizing this ordinance to be an emergency measure.
