This ordinance authorizes the execution of a $760,500 contract with the Economic Development Corporation of Kansas City and each of it's individual boards and commissions for the purpose of providing funds for certain development and redevelopment purposes.

Accepting two United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Brownfields Coalition Assessment Grants in the amount of $1,000,000.00; estimating revenues in the amount of $1,000,000.00 in the Brownfields Fund; appropriating funds to the Brownfields Coalition Hazardous Substances account and Brownfields Coalition Petroleum account of the Brownfields Fund; designating requisitioning authority; and approving the City entering into a Memorandum of Agreement with coalition partners Jackson County, Missouri and the Land Clearance for Redevelopment Authority of Kansas City, Missouri.

Andy Bracker, Brownsfield Commission, testified on behalf of this ordinance. this ordinance authorizes the Director of the Department of City Planning and Development on behalf of the City to accept two Brownfields Coalition Assessment Grants from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for the assessment of hazardous waste and petroleum brownfield sites in Kansas City and Jackson County, Missouri.
