Christopher Hughey presented a plan of rezoning a 1.2 acre tract of land generally located at 4915 and 4933 E. Truman Road and 1500 Van Brunt Boulevard from Districts R1.5 and R2.5 to District B4-5. Susan McGinn of Croft Trailer, has been using the lot for customer’s trailers and storage. She is also looking to clean up the area to match this plan.

Jaime Hickey, City Planning, provided the report for this ordinance. This ordinance approves a development plan in District DX-15 (Downtown Mixed Use) on about 0.24 acres generally located at southwest corner of 18th Street and Walnut Street for a 132 unit residential building with 2,135 square feet of ground-level retail space. Such space would be used for creative street level programming, retail space, expanding the sidewalks, parking for food trucks etc.

Authorizing the City Manager to execute a Tax Contribution Agreement with Platform Ventures LLC for the purpose of incentivizing the redevelopment of the historic Hotel Muehlebach and Kansas City Club buildings and certain other properties.

Kerrie Tyndall, City Planning, along with representative from Platform Adventures, provided the presentation for this ordinance. This ordinance authorized the City Manager to execute a Tax Contribution Agreement with Platform Ventures LLC for the purpose of incentivizing the redevelopment of the historic Hotel Muehlebach and Kansas City Club buildings and certain other properties. This redevelopment includes: approximately 100,000 square foot Class A office building, approximately 144-room hotel, approximately 190-unit residential apartment building and a parking garage with approximately 400 parking spaces. The maximum City contribution is capped at $10,026,296, to be paid in installments over a term not to exceed 26 years. Because the contribution is limited to certain revenues generated by the Project, the City is not obligated to fund any shortfall if the Project underperforms for any reason.

Approving the 19th and McGee PIEA General Development Plan located across two contiguous parcels and totaling approximately 0.40 acres generally located in the Crossroads Neighborhood of Kansas City, Missouri, and described as the southeastern corner of the block encompassed by boundaries described as north of E. 19th Street, west of McGee Street, east of Grand Boulevard, and south of 18th Street; declaring such area to be blighted and insanitary and in need of redevelopment and rehabilitation pursuant to the Missouri Planned Industrial Expansion Law, Sections 100.300-100.620, RSMo; and authorizing tax abatement. This ordinance approves the 19th and McGee PIEA General Development Plan located across two contiguous parcels and totaling approximately 0.40 acres generally located in the Crossroads Neighborhood of Kansas City, Missouri, and described as the southeastern corner of the block encompassed by boundaries described as north of E. 19th Street, west of McGee Street, east of Grand Boulevard, and south of 18th Street This ordinance declares such area to be blighted and insanitary and in need of redevelopment and rehabilitation.

RESOLUTION - Recognizing the City’s commitment to assist the Child Protection Center and Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault’s co-location project at a site that the City controls at 61st and Prospect, to assist in that area’s development; and issuing the City Manager directives that accompany such a commitment.

RESOLUTION - Recognizing the City’s commitment to assist the Child Protection Center and Metropolitan Organization to Counter Sexual Assault’s co-location project at a site that the City controls at 61st and Prospect, to assist in that area’s development, and giving the City Manager directives that accompany such a commitment. Because of concerns of original location the City Planner will be assisting in helping to find other locations for this project including, but not limited to, the old H&R Block building located at 4900 Swope Parkway.
