Larry Stice, City Development, gave an overview of the ordinance. He stated that the plan is for an Urban Renewal Plan located at 23rd & Jarboe. The plan states that there are 97 parcels within the plan area, including 71 houses and 18 vacant lots. The plan recommends that the lots be developed into single family developments which lies within the Westside area plan. The plan also estimates that 80% of the house are in some state of deterioration and in need of repair. A committee substitute was submitted on the ordinance. Hope Fryer, Economic Development Corporation concurred with staff's recommendation. Committee members agreed that the project is very good for the area.
