Appropriating $200,000.00 from the Unappropriated Fund Balance of the General Fund to the Dangerous Building Demolition Program for demolition of burned buildings and recognizing an emergency.


NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT AND HOUSING COMMITTEE recommends "ADVANCE AND DO PASS, DEBATE"
David Park, Deputy Director for Neighborhood and Community Services, stated that the ordinance would pay for demolition of structures that had been severely damaged by fire and could not be rehabilitated.

Authorizing the Directors of the Neighborhood and Community Services Department and the Fire Department to enter into a Memorandum of Understanding with Jackson County, Missouri, to participate in the County's Drug Abatement Response Team Program; authorizing the Director of the Finance to accept funds in the amount of $41,000.00 from the Interdisciplinary Task Force Grant for this purpose; and directing the City Clerk to file the agreement with the appropriate offices.
