Authorizing the Director of General Services to execute a lease agreement with K.C. Partners for the 8th floor lease at OakTower. That the Director of General Services Department is authorized, on behalf of the City, to execute a lease agreement with K.C. Partners beginning May 1, 2010 and ending April 30, 2012 for the annual Lease rate of $129,597.00 the first year ($10,799.75 month) and $134,780.88 the second year ($11,231.74). Funds have been identified in account # 1000-101200-B-617100.

Ed Hennessy, General Services, was present to answer questions from the committee on this consent item. This ordinance will approve a lease agreement to lease space on the 8th floor of Oak Towers, 324 E. 11th, suite 800 for the Action Center. Lease to be effective May 1, 2010 to April 30, 2012 Councilman Sharp inquired as to which City staff was on the 8th Floor of Oak Towers. Mr. Hennessy explained that it was Action Center employees. He also stated that the intent of the City Manager is to eventually move these employees to the former MAST building on Eastwood Trfwy.

Amending Chapter 88, Code of Ordinances, by adding a new subsection to Section 88-445-14, Outdoor advertising signs, which allows the relocation of outdoor advertising signs that are being relocated by the State of Missouri due to a state highway improvement project, and making inapplicable certain of the City’s outdoor advertising regulations to the relocated signs.

Councilman Johnson testified on behalf of this resolution. Jim Bowers, White Goss Law Firm and Scott Cargill, Lutjen Inc., gave a presentation to the committee, and answered questions from the members. This resolution directs the City Manager to prepare a plan that will provide sanitary sewer service to the First and Second Creek and Little Blue River Watersheds in Kansas City, Missouri.
