Accepting one (1) quit-claim deed and one (1) use-maintenance easement from the Kansas City Area Transit Authority for street purposes as part of 85th Street, between Holmes Road and Troost Avenue in Jackson County; and directing the City Clerk to record said deed and easement with this ordinance with Jackson County.

Authorizing the Director of Water Services Department to enter into a $299,353.00 contract with Black and Veatch Corporation for Contract No. 8255, Raw Water Supply Piping, Valve, and Electrical Improvements at the Water Treatment Plant; authorizing the Director of Water Services to expend $324,353.00 for the project; and authorizing the Director of Finance to return unexpended appropriations to the appropriate account.

Jim Mellum, Water Services Department, testified on behalf of this ordinance. This ordinance would authorize a contract at the water treatment plant. The project design will increase the reliability of the well field raw water supply system.

Declaring it necessary to change and reestablish the grades on 22nd Street along the proposed baseline of 22nd Street from approximately 147.53 feet west of the intersection of 22nd Street and Tracy Avenue (Sta. 141+71.62) to approximately 236.59 feet east (Sta. 177+40) of the intersection of Brooklyn Avenue and 22nd Street, all in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri.

This ordinance would enter into an agreement for the manufacture, assembly and maintenance of trash carts. Council woman Saundra McFadden-Weaver testified in support of this ordinance. The third district is very please with the trash carts that will be coming into the area.

Condemning and taking street and temporary right-of-way on private properties for the construction and maintenance of Red Bridge Road, between Holmes Road and Blue River Road, said properties all in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri, providing for the payment of just compensation therefore; authorizing continued negotiations by the City of Kansas City; consenting to the filing of the petition for condemnation by the City Attorney, on behalf of the City; and authorizing the City Clerk to file this ordinance with the Recorder of Deeds in Jackson County, Missouri.
